Our surveys and your data

Circle Research uses various market research techniques to help our clients better serve their customers. If you participate in any such research we are likely to hold personal information about you such as (but not necessarily limited to):

  • Your name
  • Your employer’s name and workplace address
  • Your email address and telephone number
  • Any responses you provide to research questions

We do not routinely capture electronic information, notably IP addresses, as part of any online surveys we conduct.

It is necessary that we hold this information for the purposes of managing research programmes and analysing information gathered during this research.  We will never use it for any other purposes than this.

You can request to see any personal data we hold about you by emailing andrew.dalglish@circle-research.com.  Any personal information we hold about you will be securely deleted after two years (with the exception of requests made by you not to receive any future communications from us where we will hold your details in a ‘suppression list’ to comply with this request).

We will treat any personal information with great care and take necessary steps to ensure its security.  We also guarantee that any responses you provide during a research study, unless you explicitly give permission otherwise, will be treated in strict confidence.  This means that:

  • Whilst the name of your organisation may be revealed to our client, it will never be shared publicly
  • Your personal identity will remain completely confidential at all times, even from our client
  • The responses you provide to any survey will only ever be reported in aggregate form

On some occasions we may link any responses you give during the research exercise to other data held by our client (e.g. sales records), always acting in accordance with any separate privacy policies which apply to these.  If this is the case, we use an export of this data and never share any linked information with the client.  As such, the fact that you participated in the research and any responses you provided remain confidential (unless you have explicitly agreed to this).
